Why oh Why CHANGE!!You have received SO MANY adverse comments on your new look on TV web site.WHY change – your explanations are weak. Your newscast are impartial, and that is excellent. However, you do not have to be impartial in the colours you use!!Your weather map was the BEST in the TV world, and I have had the opportunity to watch them in all 5 continents. And why change the sports section graphics and jingles? You have also suppressed the clocks, and just placed a minute count. Is this euronews? Then, what you had was excellent : GMT, CET etc..You have been ill advised by your commercial and marketing people. You will definetely not change back. But I must say that I have less pleasure watching your news, because I get irritated by the grey/blue insipid logos, and the meaningless circles you place at every possible opportunity when you change topics. One more negative comment to add to the mountain you have already received.Claude

Your new weather maps are too difficult to see and read! The previous maps were excellent. Why did you change something that worked so well?

Dear viewer Just to re-cap our response to the various points that have been made about the relaunch — a revamp of both our on-air and on-line output was long overdue as the ‘look’ no longer reflected current broadcast industry standards, nor euronews’ branding and aims. euronews has a reputation for impartial and balanced reporting, airing news not coloured by comment, opinion or nationalistic interests. Market research and feedback from viewers informs us that our credibility in this regard is boosted by the fact we do not have presenters. It is our view that the new image further enhances this perception of euronews. We offer a calm and sober voice in comparison to others in the realm of international news broadcasting. The new look seeks to capitalise on those aspects of the euronews output that have made it the market leader in Europe. Makeovers often draw more negative reaction than positive because those who dislike the changes feel more motivated to write. It doesn’t necessarily reflect the greater body of opinion. We would urge viewers critical of the new look to give it more time. That is not to say we regard it as perfect. We welcome your views and are reflecting on all the points raised. We would like to thank all of you who have commented. Head of English section.

This upgrade was surely needed! Im even beginning to like it now, first I was a bit disappointed by the simplicity but not anymore. Someone commented on the markets section below and I agree, please present the market graphs in scale!By the way, whats the city used as the background in EN? Its shown at least when the News begin. Is it a real city skyline or a made up picture?

Dear viewer We are convinced most people will be won over and are working on some of the elements of the new image that have drawn strong comments. Regarding the city in the background, it’s a composite image. Head of English section

I would like to know why you have completly messed up the weather map you show on the hour. I live in Germany and have used your excellent weather coverage in English now I find that your new Map cuts out Frankfurt Germany and the quality of the picture. The blue colour is not very good for viewing at 0600hr your old system was better. Please return to your old weather format.Thank YouJack Allenbei Kaiserslautern Germany

The new presentation of the Meteo is impossible to read/light colours on light colours make it virtually illegible. Please go back to the old presentation which was so much more userfriendly, and also had the advantage of showing the geographical relief.

since changing the format of euronews the faded grey blue colour is not clear, you cannot see the black writing, the writing must be shown much bolder, it was very clear before the change. Now it is difficult to read any of it. euronews is the only English coverage I get on the tv I live in Cyprus and it is difficult to follow news from any other source, can you make the black writing bolder on all of the topics? Weather, Economy, etc.

Re. Cyber Crime article: This subject pops up periodically and it would appear that statistically speaking it is both on the rise and incrementing in concern. There appears to be sparse information to help individuals in proactively increasing personal protection. Many of us who use the internet lack security savvy or are confused. Here are some helpful tips to increase your security.1 Keep your firewall up to date and or use a highly regarded free third party firewall from a bonafide download site.2 Keep your antivirus software up to date or use a highly regarded free third party antivirus. 3 Install and keep spyware up to date. 4 Make sure all three are always running before connecting to any network / Internet/ wired or wireless.5 On social network sites or web based email sites do not include your full name, correct birthday or full personal address details. Your friends and family know who you are strangers do not need this info.6 A quick phone call prior to any online purchase activity may seem an extreme measure, but one you may choose.7 Never open/ run/ install/ use or view any attachments or respond with personal information to any email unless you are absolutely certain who is sending the request and you are confident they use similar security measures. 8 Create a hardware boot password in you bios for your laptop or home PC.9 Rotate passwords. Use capital letters as well as lower case and numbers. Using a combination of memorable options in unusual order can make this easier. Eg. hnOJ7019smiTH03. 10 Any personal data such as accounts, addresses and passwords you back up store in a password or encrypted document. Never keep these details on your office PC.

Hey euronews,I really like your channel because it ussually gives an unbiased view on the current events. But I must stress the word ussually. Because whenever it concerns the topic of Belgium and its current political situation, it is told from the Francophonian side.I dont think this is delibirate. I think whomever goes over the news of the countries, only watches the Francophonian side because that person/persons is good in French or simply speaks it as his native language seeing as the home office of euronews is located in France. And that person/persons assumes the news is the same over the entire country.I noticed this for some time and I was convinced this is the case with the floods in Belgium a few weeks ago: the coverage of euronews only was about the Francophonian areas and the Flemish areas werent even mentioned. The Flemish news is very different and offers a totally different point of view.In the Francophonian news, the Flemish are badmouthed a lot and they speak in favor of the Francophonians. And in the Flemish news, the Francophonians are badmouthed…By disregarding the Flemish side, we Flemish are now badmouthed by euronews in the international world. If you would watch both sides, you probably will be able to filter out the badmouthing and offer a good unbiased view on the situation in Belgium maybe even better than the Flemish and Francophonian press.I hope this letter helps you in better covering the situation in Belgium.Thank you for making a great TV-channel.Maarten Bijnens

Dear viewer,
We get our information and pictures from a range of international news agencies and national channels and we strive at all times to maintain an objective point of view, reflecting all sides of the story. We certainly don’t tune into francophone channels in Belgium just to find out what the news is. You raise concerns from a Flemish perspective, others raise them from a francophone point of view. We take viewers’ comments from both sides on board in our efforts to remain neutral. Head of English section

Dear Feedback Team:I think the new EN layout is much more interesting than the previous one. It shows maturity and follows the trend of other major news broadcasters, with a European touch. Unlike most other news chanels though, it covers worldwide news and is not shortsighted to the extent of geographical vicinity. That is a BIG YES. Congratulations. The only thing I dont quite understand is the IRRITATING little minute blink on the lower right-hand corner. What purpose does that serve and who had the silly idea of keeping that little thing flashing all the time? Its a big No from me Im afraid.

What have you done to what was a fantastic site? you will find that you will loose out on much of your advertising revenue with this format. The format is dull, grey, lackluster, simplistic and feels like it was designed by a two year old,I expect much better from euronews.
