Dear euronews team.A word of appreciation for your ‘Feedback’ service. It is a delightful luxury to not be heavily restricted with a word count when supplying a comment as opposed to other news entities.Although “general public comment makers” occasionally get a tongue lashing from the educated intelligentsia non academic, self-educated individuals attempt to provide well crafted, researched, thoughtful material as a matter of interest and conscience. Thankfully you and readers kindly make allowances for the occasional typographical errors.Additionally it is an avenue for the individual to feel they are making a contribution to something bigger than themselves in a world where one voice shouting in the forest is often ignored or undervalued despite the validity of the point.

The new-look weather is depressingly vapid, although at least the silly background noises can be muted with the remote control. Suggestion: go back to the system of ten or however many years ago it was when the weather was not only in colour, but also displayed forecast temperatures for the next 24 hours from dark blue for freezing to orange for hot. Go back to the days when the weather provided a genuine wealth of information in an easy-to-understand format. Every change made since then has been a step backward. The actual news segment, on the other hand, is definitely the best on TV for a quick summary of headline news, with the significant added advantage of also being available on the half hour. The magazine-type features can also contain interesting and instructive information, but they sadly often border on the unintelligible because the English dialogue is merely played on top of an original foreign-language dialogue, and the resulting cacophony can be so garbled its practically incomprehensible.

Are spiralling security measures jeopardising our personal security. They say that the truth will set you free and you have nothing to fear if you are innocent. Alarmists paint a sinister 1984 style picture, but how concerned should we be? Would we be safer ifIf all digital, audio, text correspondence is scrutinised. If a cashless system is enforced. If we circum to loss of liberties by chip implantation. If we detain people secretly without charge or representation. If we install surveillance cameras everywhere. Some of these are already in full swing or being extended further. As one of your reports commented on Nazi information records destroyed by the Dutch resistance, but we do not need to look back so far, the Stasi and what currently has already been reported as the actual percentage figures of dittanies’ having terrorist affiliations or people listed as suspicious. When laws are passed by politicians for a ‘get out of jail free card’ from human rights violations and war crimes there is certainly cause for concern. Compounded with this is the security surrounding personal data, various data held by G.O.’s has been compromised in the past and who’s to say any individual finds themselves held due to their identity stolen to commit crimes, aside from corporate held data exploited for commercial gain.In Sweden the law has been passed for eaves dropping on text and mobile communications. In the UK the new ID/ Passport introduction has already been proven as seriously compromising personal data security by investigative reporters with the aid of security specialists. The road we are being placed on by what apparently are politicians who one can only guess really do not fully grasp the ramifications of the potential harm.Say for example a strong right wing or left wing party comes into power and has all this extra information and tools at its fingertips, how safe will you be?Sorry my comment is so long euronews team.

I agree with other viewers that your NEW LOOK WEATHER is HORRID, OLD FASHIONED, DULL and HARD to READ! The accompanying electronic tape loop is like something from a 1980s cheap arcade game. It isnt new and innovative- it is irritating and depressing. Change for the sake of change? GO BACK to the countries in natural colours where the ground is brown and green and the sea is blue. AND PLEASE get rid of that horrible noise!

Excellent new website! this update has caused euronews to be one of my most viewed websites . Also is their any possibility or future plan of possibly forming a Greek section to this website. I live in Cyprus and its a shame the both Greeks and Cypriots are not able to enjoy euronews due to the language barrier. We mustnt forget that the cradle of Europe is Greece! Keep up the good work euronews team.

Regading the recent referrendum here in Ireland on the Lisbon Treaty. There was so much mis-information from the No campaign that it was bound to bring about the result we had. Many people voted no because they did not know what it was about ! ???. Someone I know voted no because their son living in Germany told them to do so because taxation was a problem there and was leading to job cuts !!??? Why should that affect the Irish vote ??? Its worth noting that the No campaign told Irish voters that Abortion would become available on demand in Ireland if they voted Yes whilst in France the No campaign at the time of their referrendum told women exactly the opposite – that their right to have an abortion would be taken away if they voted Yes!! Cleary someone has a huge agenda here which goes beyond the workings of the E.U.Others voted No because they were urged to do so by political lobby groups set up for that purpose.they are not part of the Irish political establishment The question is – who paid for the expensive advertising campaigns of these groups and what was their agenda. It has been suggested that these groups were funded by organisations outside of Ireland. Question is who are these groups and what is their agenda?? Are they really interested in the Irish vote or simply in scuppering the Lisbon Treaty ??Many Irish people voted no because they had issues which were related to Irish – home affairs and so they decided to vote no to get back at the Government.Others voted no on issues of Farming and Fishing and the forthcoming W.T.O. negotiations and Peter Mandelsons stance on behalf of the E.U.??While the Irish voters are seen to be the ones to be putting a stop to the ratification of the Treaty if you were to have similar votes in every E.U. country I bet that similar patterns would arise. It is unfortunate that here in Ireland we appear to have put a spanner in the works when in reality the outcome would probably be the same in every country if they had to hold a referrendum like us. Bottom line is that while Irish people are Pro Europe they have just been deceived by a load of eejits perhaps not all Irish?? who have an other agenda.

Congratulations on the recent revamp of euronews. Only complaintsare that its a bit too gray when it comes to graphics and please get rid of the circle in the intro graphics and during the broadcast itself. Its too old fashioned and reminds one of the early days of cinema silent and TV when it was not possible to do anything else but use an iristo go from one scene to the next due to limited technology 50+ years ago. Bring back some of the colour that was used in the previous graphics!

The website of euronews used to be easy to handle, easy to browse, pleasant for the eyes to visit. The once golden years are over. This new design is absolutely not user friendly, simply dull, not easy to use. I am most disappointed. The coverage of European news, no matter what news they are, political, economic, cultural, is still biased in favour of the ex-15 with the exception of 2-3 favoured Eastern European nations. In fact all of them are Central European or from the Baltic region. The coverage of all sorts of news from Russia and the Mediterranean non-European nations is overrepresented in the internet edition. What makes news at euronews, of course is the decision of the editorial boards of the channel but still, I have the feeling seeing atill white spots covering certain regions of our old but already united Europe. From the linguistic point I can hardly understand why euronews broadcast in Russian but not in other European languages. It also refers to the website. I would prefer to see euronews made for European viewers including the new 10 Central European nations. When it comes to Central Europe it is many times covered with old root biased sentiments, clichés and misunderstanding serving Western European needs. The new website is still a minor issue, I would wish to have the old site back if I could. Also, would see a reflection of a new and modern Central Europe covered for the rest of Europe and the world.

On reading some of the Feedback comments re your new format I was very suprised at the negative comments. I am an American living in Ireland for the past ten years and being a bit of a news addict I find the first thing I do in the morning is turn on the TV and begin surfing the news stations starting with euronews. I generally watch all the news stations available throughout the day from Sky to Russia TV and, sorry to say, throw in a very few seconds of FOX. Guess thats just for the feel of my American comfort zone. Your new format has blown me away. The bright, clear, lack of flash and sharp to the point segments is like a breath of fresh air and since I, mentally, wake myself up to your news I find it couldnt be a better way to start my day. As for the news content, you far exceed all others with your news only nonbiased reporting and your individual segments covering a multitude of topics which always surprises me as there is so much information provided, news and otherwise, withing a thirty minute program. WELL DONE and thank you.

euronews seems to be the only news channel in the UK that understands the difference between news and trivia.I sick and tired of the other news channels that seem more interested in the trivia of celebrities than the real world news that affects us all.The Science and Mag sections are always really interesting, even subjects that would not normally interest me seem to grab my attention. It would be really nice to have euronews available on the UK Freeview TV system, is there any chance of this happening?Well done euronews and please keep up the good work.
