The Irish “no” vote is a very real obstacle blocking the treaty of Lisbon. However, in January 2009 Prague takes over the EU stewardship, its president, Vaclav Klaus is a confirmed eurosceptic and is reluctant to ratify the treaty of Lisbon. The treaty continues its difficult journey, from Dublin to Prague.
