Ravaged by years of war Chechnya is struggling along the path of reconstruction. But the rebuilding does little to hide the wounds of a population in need of healing. Human rights groups have voiced concern about reported abuses under President Kadyrov’s government. The Council of Europe recently sent its own mission to Chechnya.
